We’ve Got You Covered!

Everyone, gather ’round! We have GOOD NEWS!

Matt’s tunnel vision has officially paid off. All four high tunnels are up, and the plastic has been pulled! We’re almost in disbelief. They’re actually DONE! After all the planning, building, and working around the weather, it’s pretty wild to see them standing and ready for the next chapter of the farm.

We want to give a huge thank-you to everyone who lent a hand, offered to help, cheered us on, or followed along with the progress. Your support means so much to us, and we couldn’t be more excited to see this project come together!

So, what’s next? We’ll be building our low caterpillar tunnels, planting beds for late fall and early spring, and preparing the fields for next season. Of course, all of that will happen alongside our usual weekly tasks. Around here, finishing one project just means there’s room to start three more!

Salad is Back!

That’s right, salad mix is back this week! If you’ve been waiting for your fresh greens fix, now’s the time to stock up. To secure your weekly greens, be sure to place an order through our online store.

Please place your orders by Tuesday at 5pm for pickup later this week.

Fresh This Week: Radishes & Hakurei Turnips

We’re harvesting red radishes and Hakurei turnips this week, and these are some of our favorite roots for spring and fall. Both have a sweet, mild flavor that makes them delicious fresh or roasted.

And don’t toss those turnip greens! They’re looking pristine right now and are just as useful in the kitchen as the roots themselves. Sauté them with garlic and olive oil, stir them into soups, or cook them down as a tasty side dish.

Our new low tunnels will also help us use exclusion to protect our crops. Exclusion simply means using a physical barrier to keep pests out before they can become a problem. Think of it as putting up a little fence between our vegetables and the bugs that want to eat them first!

Fall Favorites in the Online Store

Our online store is packed with fall goodness this week, from winter squash and baby kale to potatoes and beets.

We have three varieties of beets in the mix, so there’s a little something for everyone. If you haven’t tried our white beets yet, now’s a great time! They’re sweet, mild, and won’t bleed or stain the other vegetables in your dish. Our red baby beets are small, sweet, and just the right size for roasting, steaming, or pickling. We also have a few golden beets left, while supplies last!

Whether you’re stocking up on salad mix, trying a new root vegetable, or planning a cozy fall dinner, we’ve got plenty of options to choose from.

We’re Just Getting Started!

Thank you for following along, cheering us on, and supporting our farm through every season. Getting these tunnels finished is a huge milestone for us, and we’re excited about what they’ll make possible in the months and years ahead.

We’re looking forward to growing through the colder months and bringing you more fresh greens and seasonal favorites for as long as the weather allows. The tunnels may be up, but we’re certainly not slowing down!

With greens and gratitude,

Matt and Allie
